The motivation for this image began with a chance meeting with a couple who had a recent stay at St Vincents Hospital in Sydney. They appreciated the care they had received and wanted to give something back to the staff, and future patients. They had spoken a lot about the beauty of the canola fields when in flower within the Riverina Region and wanted to purchase an image to have framed and hung in one of the hallways of the ward where she had stayed. I didn’t have any photos of canola, and it was the wrong time of year. So, I decided to improvise. I took a photo of a stubble paddock where canola is normally grown and painted the canola over the stubble. Trees, fences and grasses were also painted into the scene.
